Alvor |
A large open beach in the eastern half of Lagos Bay. Sand dunes without any cliffs. Very popular for all types of watersports especially windsurfing |
Amoreira |
Take the signposted turning north of Alzejur and you end up overlooking this popular sandy beach. An estuary also offers warmer water for swimming |
Armação de Pera |
This beach is situated in front of the village, one end has cliffs backed by sand dunes, the other end you can walk onto the beach |
Armona |
There is a ferry from Olhão to Armona island which takes 15 minutes. Allow another 10 minute walk across the island to the sandy, seaward side. |

A long island with two good access points, either a short boat ride from Tavira salt beds or a causeway and mini railway from Pedras dél Rei, approaching Tavira on the N125 from Faro |

A long beach running from Cabanas to Vila Real de S. António, easy access from the N125, the name changes several times as you drive further east, but it is still one long beach |
