Casa do Forno Cottage

The Casa do Forno Cottage (Bread Oven House) is a one bedroom duplex cottage that sleeps a maximum of 2 people and is situated in the grounds of Quintassential which occupies an acre of hilltop set in breathtaking Algarvian countryside in the centre of the sunny Algarve in total peace & tranquillity 15 minutes from Faro International Airport & the coast and overlooking the market town of Loulé. There are spectacular panoramic sea views from Faro to Portimao

Parts of the Quintassential date back to mid 19th Century and the Quintassential now consists of four cottages that are available for rent - Orange Cottage, Casa do Forno Cottage, Lemon Cottage and Carob Cottage and the owners own personal cottage.  All the cottages are within a fenced gated complex.

The Casa Do Forno Cottage is a one bedroom rustic duplex cottage tastefully decorated and boasting many original features from the old Quinta. This cottage has oodles of character.  The bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and sloping cane ceilings with wooden beams and white washed walls.  The bathroom has a shower with a tiled seating area, WC and washbasin with a vanity unit under.  The “crows nest “ lounge area has spectacular views and has a radio/CD player (guests to bring own CDs), puzzles, chess set, domino set and playing cards.   It is furnished with comfortable cane seats, terracotta flooring and also has the original cane ceiling with wooden beams.  The walls are also white washed and there is also a security safe.

The kitchen/dining area has the original bread oven dating back to the 19th century original floor tiles and stone sink from the Quinta. The kitchen comprises of fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and gas hob.  The kitchen/dining area also has the cane ceiling with wooden beams and has the typical Algarvian décor of white washed walls. From the dining area there are doors leading on to a completely private terrace with Bar-B-Q, table and chairs and cushioned reclining chairs. There is also a wood burning stove for the cooler winter evenings.
 
The Casa Do Forno Cottage has its own garden with a further rustic seating area and is surrounded by an abundance of beautiful flowers and shrubs.  Here in the secluded garden you will experience some of the most breathtaking sunsets that the Algarve has to offer.   This cottage also has its own private driveway access and carport.

Outside the Quintassential is blessed with panoramic sea views and spectacular countryside views, just what you need for a tranquil and relaxing holiday. The gardens at Quintassential are marvellous with many bushes, plants and fruit trees, along with quiet areas to relax and absorb the views.

The Quintassential has a large pool area, the pool measures 10 x 5 m and cushioned sun loungers, and parasols etc are provided for the use of the guests. From May 2006 the Quintassential will also have the added benefit of a hot tub/Jacuzzi located on the pool terrace for guest use.

Extras
On arrival the owners will meet you and awaiting your arrival will be a very generous welcome hamper in your accommodation compliments of the house.  For all the adult guests, bathrobes are provided for use during their stay, pool towels are provided to use only at the Quintassential and the cottages have hairdryers and alarm clocks.  Guests will need to bring their own beach towels.  Bed linen and bath towels are changed frequently during your stay.

At the Quintassential from June until the end of September an evening meal option on a selected week night is available – served on the main house terrace. Traditional Portuguese home-cooked food is served. We also stock a wide selection of locally produced wines and beers.

Whilst access to The Bread Oven House (Casa do Forno) at Quintassential is very good, we do, owing to its location, recommend that transport be arranged prior to your arrival. Hire cars are relatively inexpensive and are usually picked up and dropped off at the airport. We are able to offer competitive rates. There is also an excellent Taxi service available locally.
