Casa Lareira

Casa Lareira is located 5 minutes from the traditional Portuguese town of São Bras de Alportel and set in the peaceful and tranquil Eastern Algarvian countryside with beautiful views of the countryside. Casa Lareira is located in a very small tourist complex that comprises of a total of nine properties, and is one of three cottages that share a pool at the end of a no through road and just a 20 minute drive from Faro International Airport. 

Upon entering the cottage you will be amazed by the character this beautiful old Portuguese cottage has, rustic furniture, typical white washed wall décor, terracotta flooring and sloping cane ceilings. Casa Lareira also has the added benefit of a tennis court that is surrounded by beautiful fragranced orange and lemon trees.

This spacious traditional cottage offers accommodation for six people. Casa Lareira comprises of three very large twin bedrooms all furnished with beautiful traditional Portuguese furniture. There are also two large bathrooms both with bath with shower over, washbasin, WC and bidet. Cots can be provided for smaller children.

The kitchen is of rustic style and overlooks the magnificent dining area. The kitchen is equipped with an abundance of crockery and cutlery and features an electric oven and gas hob, electric kettle, large fridge with freezer section and use of washing machine.

The beautiful lounge diner is large light and spacious lounge area has Satellite TV (free to view channels) and a traditional wood-burning fireplace for the cooler autumn winter months inside an inglenook fireplace, all adding to the rustic feel. The Dining Area has a large rustic dining table with seating for six people and is furnished with traditional local furniture. From the dining area there are doors leading onto the communal pool terrace 

Outside there is a wonderful enclosed sun terrace with sun loungers, table, chairs and parasols that surrounds the communal 8 x 5 metre swimming pool. There is also a brick built Bar-B-Q ideal for al-fresco dining for guest use. 

A maid service is provided twice weekly to ensure that fresh bed linen and bath/hand towels are available.

Casa Lareira is well placed in the Eastern Algarve for exploring the countryside, visiting one or more of the magnificent beaches a short drive away, playing golf and other sports or for simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings and taking in the beauty of the region. Casa Lareira offers guests superb walking, bird watching and a retreat from the stresses of modern life. Many guests choose to eat out and experience traditional Portuguese food that is available at the many reasonably priced cafés and restaurants throughout the area.

Access to Lareira is very good and car rental is essential and this is already included in the price and is picked up and dropped off at Faro Airport.

The owners have no objections to guests wishing to smoke inside Casa Lareira.

For larger travelling parties, Casa Lareira is one of four properties available catering from 2 – 20 people.  The other properties available that can be let together can be found in our cottage section, Casa Mimosa and Casa Estrelicia and the other property can be found within our villa section, Casa Monte Casal.
