Casa Ritzy - Area Attractions . . .

The Villa is situated in the quieter area of Montechoro and is close to many attractions and beaches. The closest towns are Oura, Olhas de Agua and Albufeira where there are countless places to visit.

If any one place could claim to be the home of tourism on the Algarve it is Albufeira and its surrounding towns of Montechoro and Olhos de Agua. When Faro Airport was still in its infancy, groups like the Rolling Stones visited Albufeira which was already gaining fame as the Algarve’s premier tourist area. Albufeira and its surrounding villages started modernising and loosing their reputation as small fishing villages. The early growth of Albufeira was east along the coast to include the once separate communities of Oura and Olhas de Agua. Today the tourist centre of these most popular resorts have moved out of the old villages to “The Strip”, an Avenida of bars, restaurants and clubs from Montechoro down to the beach.

For many of today’s visitors the vibrant life that surrounds “The Strip” throughout the summer months is the Algarve. The golden sands of Olhos de Agua by day and the bars and clubs by night provide the essential ingredients for a fantastic holiday, there is something for everyone and every age. Families will feel well catered for here.

There is an extremely good shopping mall to be found within 5 minutes drive, a visit to Algarve Shopping is well worth while, here there is something for all the family. There is a choice of shops, cinemas, fast food and traditional restaurants and a bowling alley together with ample parking.

For those interested in sun and sand, there are numerous long sandy beaches to be found within a 5 minute drive, the beaches generally have a gentle slope into deeper water. Beach guards attend all the major beaches during the summer months. Most beaches offer a choice of quiet relaxing rest or for the more energetic, windsurfing, jetskis, water skiing and the "Banana" ride.

There are numerous "Water Parks" within close proximity where all the family can enjoy their visit. Something not to missed is a visit to Zoo Marine where you can watch dolphins, sea lions and other shows, or even participate and swim with the dolphins (if prearranged). There is no shortage of stunning golf courses nearby, there are enough challenging courses to satisfy any golfer. There are also tennis and squash courts plus several very good horse riding centres (one of which is located nearby) available.

If you fancy a little "flutter" then a visit to the Casino near Vilamoura Marina is always worth a visit (it could be your lucky day), the Casino also hosts a superb cabaret show.
